The Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest and leading non - profit technical organization with
more than 377000 individual members in 150 countries worldwide. The IEEE came into existence on January 1, 1963 as a
result of merger of its predecessors, the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and the Institute of Radio Engineers
(IRE) which date back to 1884.
The IEEE promotes the engineering process
of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electronics and information technologies and sciences
for the benefit of humanity, the advancement of the profession and the well-being of our members. The technical objectives
of the IEEE focus on advancing the theory and practice of electrical, electronics and computer engineering and computer science. |
